Eagles Mere Conservancy Kayaking on the Susquehanna: Peace of the Susquehanna Route. Led by Betsy Beaugard starting at 8:30 a.m. Seven mile kayak trip with an island rest stop mid-way. Eagles Mere Conservancy Damsels and Dragons from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Cabin. We will continue our exploration of the pond begun last Wednesday, concentrating on the vibrant creatures of the air, the dragonflies and damselflies. Before they emerge as adults, they begin life as drab colored larvae (also called nymphs or naiads). Using pond nets we’ll catch and observe them with other pond critters. Eagles Mere Conservancy, A Presidential Hike with Wilson Ferguson. 9:30 a.m., meet at Outlet Pond. Who is the only President to visit near Sullivan County? If you answered Woodrow Wilson, you’re right! He visited Cold Spring on the Susquehanna and New York Railroad in Bradford County. We will gather at the Outlet Pond and drive on Rte. 154 to Wheelerville. Hike along the railroad grade to Cold Spring and have lunch there. Then cross Schrader Run and walk an old road to North Street, and across Schrader’s Run. Bring a lunch. Public welcome. 570-525-3725. 9:30 am
